Description Inspired by Enid Blyton's amazing book, "Come To The Circus", published in 1948, and which I first read in 1981. More specifically, this is the bit of the story which gave birth to this design before you:-

"The great evening had come. Hundreds of people streamed in at the gate, eager to see the wonderful show. Drums sounded and trumpets blew to welcome them. The ring was strewn with clean, fresh sawdust. Everything was ready - and the show began. Shall we peep in? What is going on? A boy stands in the centre of the ring, whistling and fluting like a dozen birds.

And now here is a little girl coming in. How pretty she loooks with her red hair fluffed around her excited face. Her frilly skirt bounces up and down and she has white wings edged with bright red.

'She's a fairy!' whisper all the watching children around. 'She's a fairy. And, oh look - is that a tiny clown?'

Yes, it is. It's Bobbo the baby bear, of course, proud to wear his beautiful clown suit, eager to get claps and cheers from all those watching people. How comical he is!"

Extremely flamboyant to behold and equally plush to wear, my cirque features Vintage Stretch Lace, Italian Dupioni Silk, Bollywood Brocade and a divine layer of exquisitely beaded Sari Silk. Additional accoutrements used include Feathers, Chiffon Ruffles, a Vintage Brass Chain studded with Faux Pearls and an array of Vintage Swarovski Charms.

Lined with buttery soft Dupioni Silk in a funky Canaray Yellow, COME TO THE CIRCUS measures around 4.75" in height. Secured with a single Antique Button, she comfortably fits wrists sized from 5.5" all the way to about 7.5".

All fabrics and findings used in Sheela Goh Couture designs (unless indicated otherwise) are antique and over 100 years old. In fact, some bits are authentic Edwardian and Victorian. Seriously. So please, do wear her with care and respect.

OOAK.
Spot clean only.
Stitched entirely by hand, with needle and thread.
