I thought I might do a bit of a hybrid outfit maybe actually. I think out of the post Resi 2 games I like the Darkside Chronicles Claire best. I've never actually played Code Veronica as it came out at a time I was still getting the last few years out of my PSX. I didn't go PS2 until I needed a DVD player and by then Code Veronica had already been out a while.

RE2 is my classic since it's the first RE game I ever played, but CV completely beat it XD you have to play it one day! it's so cheap these days (on the PS2) so I'm sure you can find it in local game stores
(but of course...it's getting a bit old XD)

XD A bit old is fine. I play my Megadrive most out of my consoles at the moment so it'll seem very very hi-res xD.
I played Resi first but got a bit unstuck, then Resi 2, then finished Resi 2 and went back to finish Resi 1, then bought Resi 3 on release date...then there was a bit of a lull, and the 3 PS2 Silent Hill's filled the gap between 3 and 4. I've played 5 with friends, but I don't really get it tbh. Bit too much like a poor man's 3rd person shooter than a survival horror for me. I need my weird creepy locales in forests and slow moving but scary enemies. Resident Evil 2 is still my favourite, I'm doing another playthrough right now actually.
A lot of people tell me Code Veronica is the business, but I do remember my brother playing it a lot on the Dreamcast and it infuriating him with respawning monsters and a serious lack of ammunition. Maybe X is more refined and less irritating? It's always hard to guage with my brother and me in terms of gaming, cos he loves most of the genres I hate and vice versa. And I don't mind respawns, so long as they're avoidable enemies. Like there's a lot of respawn in Dino Crisis but the whole point is to outwit the enemies not kill them all.
Haha, hmm...I've been in the gamestores round here trying to buy new games several times, but there's very little support now for the PS2 or anything earlier in stores. A few copies of Buzz or Sing:star and 2400 copies of FIFA are about all there is in the local Gamestation for the PS2. I'll have to Ebay it when I finally get moving house sorted out and I have a fixed address for the forseeable future.
