Prog rock is not very popular among young people these days, I think though...

He plays soft rock mostly and not prog rock. his songs alone are very different than the stuff he 

did with blackfield. 
Prog rock is not popular in Israel as well. No Aviv is an popular among both boys and girls, it's easy to relate to 

his songs really. a lot of teenagers and adults are into his stuff.

In Japan, we think idol boys are like backstreet boys, yes must dance well and sing pops  lol

me too, have never seen the band. Hope Aviv & SW come to Japan together someday...

Well, yeah, I guess more people like boy bands over rock stars but Aviv is an exception.

Aviv geffen used to have a lot of fangirls (and boys as well) in the 90's 
When he was younger, When he would get very wild and wear weird clothes on stage,
But today's teens think that he is disgusting.

He plays mostly soft rock,
But he also have a lot of songs in which he screams (Like for example, It's cloudy now.
Originally it's in hebrew, and when he shouts "we're a fucked up generation" he really screams it)

Here in Japan, no information about Israeli music scene...
Well, just checked the tune "It's cloudy now"though, I received kinda shock.
