Where is this ugly being written about - what I see is character...
And though the one to image right - seems to be of a serious nature, think all of these - are comfortable within themselves... might be something to be learned from that.

I simply love the concept.
Creatures that dwells all around us and influates or daily lives, both form and mind wether they are ugly or not. In this case perhaps a reflection of someone who are looking into himself.
You caught the feeling very well, i like the spooky and dark forest in the background while there is a pleasant light on the head and hills.
Again nice texture, the strokes makes it look like a real painting
