The Goa’uld world of Tbn, or Tabni was originally named after Tabnit, the former First Prime of Goa’uld Lady Astarte, who himself was named after Tanit/ Tinnit, Queen and Lady of Ba’al. Astarte who served under System Lord Ba’al had been given one of Tanit’s Primi as her own First Prime as a present for her loyalty. Once Tbn was a major Jaffa Stronghold and ship producing world with original orbital facilities it had been settled by Unas originally and had been once part of the early Phoenician city-worlds/ Lord Worlds which had been mich more autonomous and independent, even inside the domain of the later rising Ba’al from within their ranks and middle inside the Phoenician Sepat/ Nome/ Sector Province. Astrate herself as a goddess of fertility and reproduction similar to Hathor had served Ba’al as one of the first Goa’uld when he rose to become a powerful Lord or High Lord as newly conquered worlds were terraformed and modernized. Instead of using raw power and torture like most Goa’uld, Astarte herself used her hosts beauty and a more mild approach that would win over local populations, often not even directly portraying herself as a Onak, or Goa’uld God, but a mere regular ruler, even with some divine qualities. The fact that she not revealed herself as a god, or ruled like one would later be the downfall of Goa’uld rule on Tbn, as the happiness and proven efficiency of her productive rule was disliked by Ba’al who reserved such special displays of perfection and divinity for himself to make the most memorable impression on his subjects, followers and slaves. As a result Asarte, who was unquestionable loyal to Ba’al and quickly gained power as his left hand changed the way she was viewed and portrayed. Together with other changes, like the newly discovered human Tar as new hosts, Jaffa and slaves, this rocked the culture, society and religion on Tbn to it’s very core and many of the local Jaffa of the ruling political, religious, military and industrial casts and classes. This combined with the fact that massive urbanization and industrialization of Tbn as a stronghold, fortress, industrial and production world had turned their oceans toxic and the continents arid, dry and had destroyed most former farmlands and forests, resulted in a growing opposition against Lady Astarte.
The Rebellion against the Goa’uld was basically a bloody civil war on Tbn, which began to refer to themselves after their won independence as Tobn, or Toben, from the Asgard word Tobe/ Toben to rage, riot because of how fierce and brutal their uprising against the false gods who had enslaved them had been. While most orbital structures had been destroyed during the fight, the industrial human Tobin had used some of these installations to ensure the Goa’uld would never enslave, or threaten them ever again, by creating the first Tobin Space Mines/ Tobin Mines with their own knowledge about Goa’uld ships, armor and shields that would enforce their autonomy and independence against the Goa’uld Empire for all time to come. Having chosen the time of their rebellion wisely during the still ongoing First Goa’uld Civil War this meant that few Goa’uld had the forces ready to respond, given the Tobin time to build up their defenses further and spreading the initial minefields at the Edge of the Tobin System Hyperspace Corridors and Hyperspace Lanes to a massive minefield that would engulf their whole planetary orbit, brought there with the aid of transportation rings, into which the beamed up mines would fit, leaving no room for any Goa’uld ship to ever come close to their world and within weapons range for an orbital bombardment to threaten them, or wiping them out. At the same time the levels of overall pollution from their own industrialization meant that their originally 2 million population before the Great Tobin Rage/ Great Tobin Riot quickly more then doubled with 5,5 million and that thousands of their smaller cities city-states soon merged into massive megalopolis together, even more so then under the industrial and mining cities the Goa’uld once had ruled. This overpopulation paired with the overall pollution meant that soon air and water filter systems were immensely under pressure to compensate for more and more Tobin people. While there were some contact with a nearby Asgard research world of human Tar, the Tobin quickly learned that the Asgard would not risk the Protected Planet Treaty with the Goa’uld for them and so with the Tobin System now secured and protected, the Tobin people had to find others trough the (Chaapa’ai/ Stargate) to supply themselves with the goods they needed and that their world itself could no longer provide.
