One of the strangest things encountered by QM-1 was not the dimensions and realities were the Soviet Union had won, but were they lost the Cold War, or it continued or ended in a stalemate, but the Soviet Union still managed to survive as well. In some of this realities the rivalry between Boris Yeltsin and his Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic against Mikhail Gorbachev and his Union of Soviet Sovereign Republics got out of hand, or the 1991 Soviet coup ended differently. One of this reality saw the Soviet supporters remain in Kazachstan and continue the Soviet Union only there as the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, in others the Communist rule remained in the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. Others saw the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic and the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic remained as a unified Soviet Union. Sometimes this happened because the State Committee on the State of Emergency, the Soviet Peasant Union, aided by the Taman Guards, Kentemir Division, the Communist Party, Alpha Group and Vmpel Group, aided by the Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Byelorussian, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Tajikistan, South Ossetia, Transnistria, Turkmenia, Uzbekistan and outside supporters like China, Cuba, Iraq, Laos, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Vietnam, Yugoslavia and the Palestine Liberation Organization aided them in some way or form, allowing for Gennady Yanayev, Dmitriy Yazov, Vladimir Kryuchkov, Valentin Pavlov, Boris Pugo, Oleg Baklanov, Vasily Starodubtsev, Alexander Tizyakov, Ayaz Mutallibov, Anatoly Malofeyev, Nikolay Dementey, Askar Akayev, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Absamat Masaliyev, Qahhor Mahkamov, Igor Smirnov, Saparmurat Niyazov and Islam Karimov archived their goals and overall victories, at least to some extent. While this lead to more tensions on earth, as well as massive aid and proxy wars by the Soviets for allied and depending communist and socialist nation states, allowing for other regimes like the Somali Democratic Republic, the People's Republic of the Congo, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Democratic Kampuchea, the Lao People's Democratic Republic and a few others in Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The main problem came, when these Soviet Unions discovered the Stargate, or managed to bargain with the Americans for their Second One for some reason, forcing the Cold War to continue among the stars. Often this meant a even faster fall of the Soviet Union thanks to the Soviet Jaffa Republic and peasant uprising. While in a few of this dimension and realities this lead to a combined American-Soviet War against the Goa'uld and their followers. In addition however it would also lead to a extensive, or new Cold War in the Milky Way galaxy, were the Americans tried to set up free and democratic nations or kingdoms and other locally accepted or wished forms of governments, while the Soviets tried to establish local socialist and communist governments on as many worlds as possible. One of the most horrific things of these dimensions and realities were the fact that many of this Western Allied and Soviet Aligned worlds pointed at one another with nuclear naquadah enhanced atomic bombs, even interplanetary versions of them, making Tau'ri (Earth) and the rest of the galaxy a much more unstable and dangerous place. QM-1 was just glad whenever they arrived on the American or British Stargate side of these worlds, as they were often much more accepting of the Quantum Mirror concept, even if they too at first assumed them to be enemy spies with a strange cover story, but such suspicions could easily be turned down when showing how the Quantum Mirror worked. Doing so was however soon forbidden, as some of this American, British and Soviet governments soon believed it to be their moral justified right to rid other realities from Capitalism, Colonialism, Imperialism, Socialism, of Communism, leading to them establishing their very own Quantum Mirror complexes and teams, leading to Earth Alpha being much more secretive about the Quantum Mirror and inventing a whole branch of cover up stories for a variety of different realities and dominating ideologies and believes there.
