when you do those gradient like shadings...like in the nose, in the mouth, sides of the face, do you start from the light foreground layer first and make layers underneath it, or do you start with the dark and then work over it?

Yet another remarkable work. Love the shoved to one side composition. I'm unsure why you made all those shading layres, especially especially considering how small those layer shapes actually are. I'm guessing this has something to do with your technique (color reduction - then vector?). But, in any case, phenominal stuff. keep with it.
