Thanks for caling me a squirrel whisperer! I've had a lot of close encounters with animals this summer.
Just last month I found this black and yellow finch on the sidewalk. He was so small that I thought he was a baby, so I picked him up. He never tried to bite me like a wild animal would do, I had no idea how to look after a baby bird but I was going to take him home and try my best.
So I started walking with him in my hand, then after five minutes he flew away! I guess he wasn't a baby after all. I think he must have flown into a store window and was stunned. It was such a beautiful experience.
I also had the same type of experience with rescuing a dragonfly off the road, holding it for a few minutes while it recuperated, then watching as he flew away. I wrote a poem about that one.

I love this picture. It's very cute and adorable! I love squirrels too. I once had one come into my apartment to say hello, then he left. I t was such a short and sweet visit.
