i love carousel animals! its so nice to see a carousel that has not got the standard circus horse theme. the 2004 tulsa state fair had a lovely carousel with this beautiful hippocampus, as well as some others that i simply did not have time to photograph. in the background, you may see a leaping cat with a fish caught in its jaws.Related content

If you are still in that part of the country... Make it a point to visit the Oklahoma City zoo... they have an endangered animal carousel that has won awards. It is incredible.

ah ha ^_^ so it is ours. I work at Carousel Magic in Ohio, one of only two places in the country that hand carve carousel animals. I remember seeing a photograph of that hippocampus hanging on our wall upstairs.

Actually, I had my boss look at that, and he said it's clearly fiberglass, so I guess its not ours after all lol He said our original went over to the Universal Studios in Japan.

yeah. i entirely meant to go to the tulsa state fair again this year, to get some more of the fantastic creatures that are on that merry-go-round, but unfortunately, i wasn't able to go. maybe next year. im glad you enjoyed it.

AWWW I have once seen a hippocampus carousel horse. It was at Houston's Astro World. The ride was over 100 years old and now... it's gone... I'M SO MAD AT HOUSTON!!!!!!!! anyway, these things are soooo cool!
