He's a mage -- the "I studied really hard to learn this" kind of mage, not the kind who just seems to know magic intuitively -- who can manipulate space and coordinates, particularly using ley lines.

This is just an underpainting, but I had to share it because I'm really proud of it. Even moreso because it's my first time doing a realistic portrait of one of our fictional characters -- that is, his face is made up. Done with a blend of Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus watercolors and Prima Watercolor Confections.
