Description
You can watch a sped-up video of me painting this piece's background in gouache here: youtu.be/xoU4aqcqM7Y
Atomic Ranger aka Allen Adams waiting at a lonesome above-ground subway station. He stands out a bit, what with being nuclear powered and fused with alien tissue. He's the Ascension Epoch's version of Steve Ditko's Captain Atom.
He's done in Derwent watercolor pencils and Winsor and Newton watercolors. The background was done with M. Graham gouache, and was my first time using gouache, so my video talks about that first time experience. And, of course, watch 'til the end for my super-secret after credits content!
Atomic Ranger is part of the Challenger Foundation from the Challenger Confidential book series by Michael A. DiBaggio and Shell Presto DiBaggio. To learn more about the first book, Copper Knights and Granite Men, visit www.ascensionepoch.com/wordpre… .
If crediting: Atomic Ranger was created by Michael A. DiBaggio and Shell "Presto" DiBaggio of AscensionEpoch.com. Drawn by Shell Presto.

Holy convergent evolution, Batman!
I never thought of Lumion being like Captain Atom, but Ranger's description makes him feel like he could be a cross dimensional brother.

He reminds me, oddly enough, of Cable, from the Deadpool 2 movie.

He's got the stern, set jaw and the... well, no nonsense demeanor that Cable traditionally has, but that feels odd saying because Cable was in Deadpool and, uh, nonsense abounds there. But anyway, I can see them having a similar "feel."
