Description In the Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, the prince was cursed by a Enchantress as punishment for his selfish and cruel nature; only by loving another and earning their love can the Beast free himself by the spell.

In Shrek, Fiona, a princess by birth, was cursed by a witch for reasons unknown; only by love's first kiss can she be free, only to ironically end up becoming an ogre like Shrek himself. But still retain some humanity, of the woman variety.

For a man, even as a beast, he yells and roars when often angry. Meanwhile, a woman, all women for that matter, she gets upset but always maintains a calm and of course mature demeanor, hoping to bring out the good inside of him.

Fiona: You're acting like a... a...

Beast: Go on, say it.

Fiona: Like a beast! Why don't you just learn to control your temper!

Beast: Well, guess what? Whether you like it or not, I *am* a beast! And that's never going to change. Deal with it.

Fiona: You were human once like me. But at least *I* still have human feelings and compassion. If I were you, I show kindness to everyone and they'd like me just for who I am and not what I look at. Think about it.
