Dr. Curtis "Curt" Connors was a geneticist who researched mainly the regeneration of reptiles, partially to find a way to regenerate his right arm, which he lost in an unrevealed accident. He finally developed an experimental regrowth serum he called "reptelium" and after a test on himself, his right arm grew back, but the serum also transformed him into an inhuman lizard creature. With Spider-man's help, he reverted back to his human form.
