Description
This was a commission that was given to me a long time ago, and I only recently decided to finish it. (I am a horrible procastinator... whoops.) I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. One of the people in my church wanted to support me and my artwork and commissioned me to do a few paintings for him and his wife. The exact commision for this particular one was a bit vague. They liked the painting I had done of my brother's World of Warcraft character and told me to do something like it, or at least be similar in style. Knowing that they weren't World of Warcraft fans, I determined that the part they liked about the other painting was the look of pretty architecture and clouds that I had used as a background. With that in mind, I decided to paint a picture of the LDS temple the couple had been married in.

I'm not going to lie, the Seattle, Washington temple is not my favorite LDS temple. It's significantly boxier than I would like. I tend to describe it as what happens when an office building swallows a temple. Having said that, I never realized how many intricate arches and details there were until I was trying to paint it. In many ways, painting this picture gave me a better appreciation for the Seattle temple, and the couple who had commissioned the painting loved it. All in all, I think it turned out well despite the fact that I'm not great at making straight lines.
