“Get up! I know you can do better than that!” Hoshi shouted at the downed form of Alex, who she had put down there with a stiff kick to his jaw.

Hoshi huffed as the boy barely moved. It was only Round two, and she had him not just on the ropes, but at her feet. To say it annoyed her was an understatement. She had fought him before only last year, and he was quite a challenge back then. Sure, the kid was cocky, but at times, sho was Hoshiko. Their fight had been a test - and a fun one at that.

This one just left a bad taste in her mouth. And the venomous glare of Widow, his friend, or partner, as Hoshiko assumed, did not make her feel any better.

“Ichi! Ni! San!” Hoshiko, still upset by the speed of which she was winning, began to count her red-headed rival out.

“Shi!”

“Go!”

“Roku!”

“Shichi!” Hoshiko groaned. He wasn’t getting up was he?”

“Hachi!”

“Kyuu!” Finally, Hoshiko saw a spark of life emit from the fallen fighter.

At the sluggish pace of nine, Alex had lurched to his feet. He refused to lose so early, although even he had to admit he did not expect Hoshiko to be so aggressive, and she had improved so much since last year. He gave Widow a quick look and a nod. He was okay, it told her. He just needed to warm up.

Hoshiko and Alex exchanged steely glares before rushing back into each other, the fight had only just begun…
