Description
size: 14cm from top to toeThis is one of my favourite pieces. But it's also the one that took me by far the longest time to get the right materials. It was so hard to get the colours I imagined. Believe me or not, I have searched three years to get those great beads: high-quality japanese delica beads. I have not worked with them before, but they instantly convinced me. The quality of these beads is simply outstanding. So, to all the beaders out there: Try them out, they are worth their money!
The colour concept of the bird is fully done by me, I only used some guidelines for the body itself. I tried to make it look like a flame, as a phoenix always goes up in flames before it is reborn from the ashes. The branch it is sitting on is also done by me without guidlines.

Guidelines out of: Torsten Becker, Fantasy-Perlentiere (Motive aus Mythologie und Fantasy), Frechverlag

Hello there, you have been tagged for Comment Tag forProjectComment .
This is really cool. I like the colors. The branch stands out to me because it has a slightly different texture and just looks awesome. I like the shiny beads and the way you interspersed the colors and made them shimmery is really cool. I imagine having to pick this out from individual beads would be labor intensive. It's beautiful. The wings look a little unnatural in their shape, but they also sort of show fire streaming behind them.
Your word for StudioIJB is "peaceful".

I made one of these for my wife. Now I need to mount it for display, I am thinking of "borrowing" your branch idea.

Usually something like this takes about a day to do, but since I tried a lot of colour variations it took me twice the time

mother of god you got patience xD
it's similar with my newest portrait...the hair and expression took me so damn long, i don't even know how long i needed exactly for the whole drawing anymore...at least it was worth while, so same thing again^^

Yeah, if you have fun working on it, it doesn't really matter how long it took

it's always been a weakness of mine to take the time it needs to get good for an artwork...
that's the reason i don't do many portraits though i love doing them...it's a shame but i'm working on it xD

i was wondering how you made the tree? can you tell me how?please?

sheorun In reply to cool-papyrus [2012-09-23 18:15:41 +0000 UTC]
of course i can you start off at the leafs you take one piece of wire, add some beads (I personally took five) in the middle, and then start twisting the two endings of the wire. But only so far until the next branch would start off. You do the same with this following one and then you have four endings of wire you can twist until you want the next branch to add. You go on like this until you're done and happy with your result
I hope I could describe it understandable enough, if not just keep on asking
