Description
How long has it been since I drew Nazir? Too long? Very much so.Haha, given that he's as active as Dekker in our DnD campaign, just he never says anything since he's the 'strong silent' type (read: he has super low charisma), he really ought to be drawn more often. But he's a tough one to get down because I've smushed various cultures together to make him. He's mostly Bedouin and Native American, with a hint of various African tribes, which influence his appearance, style and attitude. He is, at some point, planning on going back to his home on the other side of the world to where he is now to reclaim his rightful place as chief of his people C:
As usual, this was the outcome of DnD last night C: Nazir's glorious input was punching a guy in the face on impulse as he went to yell and alert the Big Bad that we were in the same tavern as him ;D And then he stabbed him in the back as the guy ran for the door. He then poorly guarded the door while the guy, pinned down by two fighters, was intimidated by Dekker, who's apparently the most intimidating of the group... Yup, the shortest party member is the scariest. Go figure. Well, that said, the fighter was complaining she should threaten the guy with her axe when I started to speak pleasantly to our captive, but was left 'oh'-ing when Dekker threatened to cut off a finger every time the guy lied C: He's a sweetheart, really, and actually the second most intelligent of the group aside from the wizard. He's also going to be allowed to take some levels in assassin (because the other players think he's murdering-people-while-they-sleep material ;D) without having to let his alignment slip to evil 8D Wahey for DMs that bend rules to their will C: The session ended with our captive slitting his own throat rather than give over information and the inn keep barging past Nazir to stumble in on Dekker absolutely coated in the man's blood and crouched over him. Soooo yeah. We're now trapped on the top floor of a tavern with people we can't even think about fighting C: Dekker's all for causing chaos and setting fire to the inn while we jump out the window. We'll see ;D
So yeah, have some Nazir. I'm not sure what to think of this atm, I kind of like it because it's been so long since I drew him so he's changed a little (and gained another scar... since he did die when he was eaten by a big snake thing and get slightly dissolved by stomach acid... So he needs some new mark, no matter how small ;D).
Fun fact: I made Nazir before Dekker (he started out as a Robin Hood-style guy), and fully expected him to be my favourite character since I wasn't sold on Dekker/playing rogue. That quickly changed. Very quickly changed xD
Nazir Daq'ar is my DnD ranger C:

Excellent work on the expression and detail. Both clearly shows his power as chief.

Absolutely stunning as per usual! I absolutely adore the way you've designed him <3
While I'm here, might I just ask how you do hair? It always looks so awesome and realistic but I can't seem to work out how to get anything more than 'oily glob' when I try to do the same thing >.>

Thank you! C:
To be honest, hair is the part I hate drawing the most. Despiiiiise it xD It takes a lot of trial and error, but the basic process I use... A large brush with opacity on to get the shape, then the same with pressure to give more, then I just go over that with increasingly smaller brushes with both pressure and opacity on, following most 'clumps' I'd made before and with a few wisps here and there. I sometimes darken areas simply by adding a multiply level, then highlight with pressure and opacity again.
It's not quite the same because long hair is easier to do like I said above, but this sort of shows what I do - Irendel WIP . Even though I strongly disliked drawing that hair even more than normal so it's far messier haha xD
