I'm skipping all that, technique and composition thing in this responsde - that it's amazing is a foregone conclusion here.
Instead, I'll say I love the contrasts. Β Life and death, clinging to and letting go, collapsed in misery and standing tall, and the fact that you didn't draw three different women but just one (well, three would've been a bit counter-intuitive here) with the underlying message that one can pick oneself up, one can move on, but only one in oneself can, not with the help of others. Β It's also, to me, good that it demonstrates moving on at the snap of a finger is not how it goes, it's a process - the two figures whose faces are visible attest to that. Β One cries, the other is "come on, please, you can get up again."
Sheesh, I hit up the site out of habit. Β Wasn't expecting something THIS powerful, I'll tell ya that much. Β It's that Peter Steele paraphrase that I sometimes use: "It's so beautiful it's devastating, and it's so devastating it's beautiful."

This painting really speaks to me. Without knowing you, I think the viewer instantly connects with an experience of anguish, pain, and love. Communicating emotions is to me the most beautiful and valuable thing art can do, because it allows you to express yourself and reach out to others at the same time. The mood and colours of the piece are sombre but so soft at the same time, it's gorgeous. The character's body language is just so moving too. Thank you for sharing this with the rest of the world.
