Description
This is one of my recent oil painting studies from Sunday life drawing at The Conservatory, Seattle, WA. The Conservatory (formerly Atelier Coffee Company) is a wonderful coffee shop and cafe run by artists located in the Georgetown area of Seattle. Its interior is a mix of Victorian/Steampunk/offbeat decor which is fantastical backdrop for art events like these.Process shots:

Very lovely work. Oddly enough, when I initially saw this, my first thought was that it looked like a coffee based painting. (as in actually painted with some coffee) Then I read the description to find out it was at least painted in a coffee house. Close enough? yup yup.

Ooh, fun... I've never tried coffee painting, at least not on purpose Thanks!

No problem. I used to play with instant coffee for school assignments to get a sort of sepia tone. Also, to confuse my friends because my paintings would smell of coffee and they didn't understand why.
