"The power of the mind - I wish I could read your mind" was the concept I chose to look into for my latest Illustration course assignment. It's depicting how the world can be seen through a child's eyes. His innocence and imagination is what's protecting him from the harsh surroundings of reality.

Wonderful, and I think it is open to a variety of interpretations - which is great, because it forces us to stop for a moment and think. My first impression was that the child in the bubble is carefree and not careless; it reminded me of people who survive times of crisis clinging on to happy memories. Which is positive. But obviously you can say the child is blind to the destruction around him, and that is sad because sooner or later he has to look up and see.
And I like the fact that the bulindings in the bubble exist outside the bubble too

Everything's been said already, but I realy like this. The fact that the teddy-bear's eye is almost loose makes me think the little boy does know what's going on around him, even though it's just a little bit (to me, that is...) Beautiful, ... just... Wow!

This is so sad and yet so beautiful... reminds me of Freud's theses concerning suppression (that's what I'm doing at psychology class at the moment) and how well a child's imagination can work if their peace of mind gets threatened by reality.
I guess this really is a piece which makes people THINK.
