I really like this, but I'm wondering, I've just started dabbling in Photoshop myself, but when ever I try to enhance eye colour or make in extremely different, it always looks like a blob of colour.
How do you get the look that make it still look like an eyes?

There's many different ways. I can't remember where the tut came from, and its really hard for me to explain when I can't show, but you can look up recolor tutorials online.
