It makes sense, really. But I already made a trusting mistake. I thought it would be ok to browse. Now every time I look at the "recommended" section my brain gets an electric jolt of warning. That fact that almost all people consider that horror normal is even more frightening. And that the show jumped into the abyss similar to kids' YouTube in very S02E03 is a proof that I'm actually lucky and it could get much worse. I can't watch every episode with a mine detector in my hands, unable to relax for a second. Even Tom and Jerry's violence don't horrify me as much as the madness they bring into that innocent world. I NEED this safety zone around me. I know there are good eps ahead but I can't afford to try and find out, like a bag of candies, 5 of which are mamba's poison.

ah, I take it you discovered whilst browsing certain stories/art about Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, or RD? If that is indeed the case, I am so very, very sorry that you had the ill-fortune in discovering them. The writers of the show and most fans (that I know anyway) abhor those obscenities. I have read many "dark" fanfics and even some of the darkest amongst those have never forgotten that they were at their heart about ponies. The show as far as I can remember never gets anywhere near that dark or twisted in any way, shape, or form. Sure, there are a few things like Discord, that if you think too much about it, can have really dark implications, but so can Tom and Jerry or other classic cartoons, the way they portray certain subjects are to our modern sensibilities simply abhorrent. But the show writers NEVER did ANYTHING that would be rated more than say pg-13 at the absolute maximum. I sincerely hope that I am misunderstanding what you are saying, I would LOVE to be wrong here. Even though we don't know each other outside of this conversation, I would like you to trust me when I say that the majority of the show and the fan-produced content is nothing like those disgusting things. In fact, if you wanted to dip your toe in the water, so to speak, I could point you towards some fan-content that I have found that might help you re-learn to "giggle at the ghosties" as it were. Either way, Internet hugs.

(P.S. bold font is simply for emphasis, I do my utmost to not do the shouty internet thing for anything outside of excitement like WOO!! XD)

You are misunderstanding a bit and I know I should never ever try to reveal my points of view, under no circumstances. I'm absolutely sure they would not be taken well. I'll only say that people would not understand what I'm talking about at all and that horrifies me the most. It leaves me pretty much alone. The society never forgives the loners who refuse to go with the popular flow. Trust me, the times when people nail a guy to wood for asking them to be kinder are not gone. A bit funny how people talk about the new age of freedom of expression and I know for sure it's lies. They are free, not me. Because they say the "right" things. Popular things. If I ask people to stop smoking and drinking alcohol I'll be "wrong". When they say a children's cartoon should promote rule34 because "it doesn't harm anyone" they'll be "right". I'm so tired of this Wonderland where everything is upside down. Yeah, lemme build a huge wall and hide from that crazy world. I don't want to convince anyone. I want my bit of sanity 2 meters around me. That's all.

I will not insult your intelligence by pretending to be "better" than any of the people you mentioned, I sometimes pre-emptively judge, I sometimes stick all four hooves in my mouth, I all too often just go with the flow even if I don't agree with things because it is easier and I don't do well with conflict, and I follow several of the more mature pony artists on DA. On that same token, I do try to be better, even if I often fall short. I am sorry you feel that way, and I will not pry if you don't want me to, I will leave you alone if you so desire, but if you ever feel you just need to vent or talk, I'd be willing to lend an ear. that is all I'll say on the matter aside from offering a sincere Internet Hug.

Thanks. I find division the best solution for this world. We can all live in peace if we're kind to each-other but not bother one another with disturbing things. I hope people soon get fed with this irresponsible freedom and come up with healthy mutual respect and discipline.

To make it clear I'd have to exaggerate a bit. Graphic art is a skill and any skill has levels. All children make the same initial mistakes. For example, not knowing how dimension works, kids draw a road going away as an equally thick tube going up in a picture. Houses are all symbols as if seen from 1 side (square, window, roof, chimney), same size, but put higher in the picture as they get further away. A character's head they would draw by using the same angle they know, but facing a different flat angle of the paper. Like, behind = below, front = above, but all side views. So imagine the shame of a person who made a few drawings with normal perspective, volume and composition and then going back to symbolism of a 4 year old. Just being weak is one thing, going back to weak is... I dunno, like wetting myself in public.

You'd say "who cares, just draw what you like" and you'd be right but then again I do want to improve, I want to grow and not sacrifice myself on the altar for each step forward while life takes me two steps back. And, you know, it works for the first timers. They find joy in drawing something simple. I'm past that point, I do want more. More complex angels, compositions, interactions, here, I have them in my gallery, I look at them as a reference! My own art as reference! And still fail. That hurts. As if I had Huntington. Each next day finding out I need to re-learn to do what I did all my life. Not being able to grow. Especially seeing some artists going full way from my level to pro scene of like top 20 in the world in some 2 years. Seeing your dream becoming mud is like dying inside.

Sorry about the emotional response. And... thanks for listening, I guess. I think I need someone to grab and hug tight and yell how life is not fair to and hear "I understand"... but I don't have that luxury. And I hurt people when I do.

I always thought that you follow the show's style, only, you know... you make it look so much better xD So it always looks great to me, because my point of reference is more often the style of the show and not your other works, but since you know the entire process behind each picture, I guess you pay more attention than the viewers to any mistakes you've made along the way. I'm sure you haven't lost your skill forever if you've done more complex things in the past; maybe you just need a moment to remind yourself how to do it. I don't know how often you draw, but if it's as often as you upload, then it's probably not often enough to grow and improve. And... I don't think you will ever improve beyond what you've achieved if you only reference what you're already familiar with.

Say, do you ever doodle and sketch between drawing full works? I don't think I've ever seen anything in your gallery that would have any traces of the sketching phase.

I'm sorry if it's not the "I understand" you need, I'm the kind of person who aims at solving the problem rather than dwells on it :'3 I legit want to help, but it's hard for me to tell when emotional support is more helpful than coming up with a solution.

Yeah, I draw every day or once in 2 days, I keep most sketching backstage. And maybe emotional support is better here. I can't explain all the details of my problems so easily anyway. No one can guide us through our own paths since we all have a different path. I just had a bad luck. Many times.
