Description Inktober day 19: landscape

I was going to paint a default horizontal canvas landscape when I suddenly saw we had big chunks of salt at home. I'm glad I did this unusual dreamy sky and autumn trees without leaves.

I used:
Gerstaecker black indian ink
White ink
Kuretake Gansai Tambi paints and Lukas watercolours with salt

This is right now featured on Art Amino's front page and I'm super flattered thank you everyone for all the love, kind and frindly comments support and donations!

This is my entry for watercolorists 's AquaChallenge Salty challenge. The journal:
AquaChallenge: SALTYHello watercolorists !
It's been so long promised  ...now it's time
To cook, to eat salty snacks? No!

We will be using salt...but for painting.
In watercolors you can use lots of different materials like plastic, paper tissue and everyday items like water and you guessed it...SALT to make awesome textures.
For the salt technique in watercolor paintings you can use regular kitchen salt, sea salt or the special one made for watercolors from an art supply store.
See some examples of great use of the salt technique:

I love all the white specks everywhere, the black trees, and the purple-ish sky surrounding the orange centre. The white frame really completes the picture, too. Awesome colourful night-time work!

Thank you very much, sweetie!
I used tape to keep the white frame.

That's so creative! It looks like it was done on a program. Definitely got to try out the white tape sometime! ^_^

It's a pretty useful trick among watery artists you tape the drawing to keep a frame and when everything is dry, you peel the tape off.
