I finally did that .gif animation tutorial I told my friend I would make. I hope it helps somebody out there. Here's "Blinking Ninetales ."EDIT 12/27/11: Redone. Hope that's a little easier on the eyes.

i just did drew over it using the pencil tool (not the brush tool.)

also how do you duplicate the base layer in gimp 2?

right click the layer you want to duplicate, then click "duplicate layer." there is also a shortcut button for this at the bottom of the layer dialogue.
