xD Lucky. The most art I get to do at school are derpy lil doodles on worksheets meant for 1st grade or kindergarten, my peers hand out to us during their lessons. xD Not that I mind! Getting to pretend you're an elementary schooler at college is fun stuff. My major often has us present to our classmates as though we were teaching elementary schoolers, so anyone not presenting gets to pretend they are a certain age. xD It's a ton of fun so I guess I can't complain.
What sorts of stuff are you normally required to do? Despite all of that work, do you still enjoy your major?

I go to an art school so everyone is super serious about art I cant even doodle my own things because they give out soo much homework. xD
Its not NOT fun, like its just alot of technical stuff. I enjoy it, or moreover at least I feel like im learning. Like...for this one class (its perspective class ) he gives us an assignment for every class that needs to be done for the next class, and it'll be things like full-blown cityscapes.

XD It is. I think we elementary education majors are just kids at heart in general. We were assigned this massive essay where we had to make a unit to teach to a class (though we won't ACTUALLY be teaching it to anyone), but we had to accompany it with a "3D" project. The teacher was showing us dioramas, volcanoes people made, soap carvings, and all of these super time consuming things. I swear I heard a girl go, "Psh, I'm just gonna ask my parents to help me make it." XD We never left elementary school mentality, clearly. I admit, I went home and was like, "Hey uh.... dad, wanna help me make a diorama? 8D?" He said no, so a comic book is what I'm making. It was on the list of accepted projects.
Oh man that sucks! At least you enjoy it and are learning. How long do you have between classes with that one professor? Do you at least get to make those projects like the cityscape your own?

We dont have that much freedom, in SOME of the classes we have complete freedom (which is what you'd see in my recent gallery, since he doesnt care as long as you're doing what he says in it sorta xD)
but in others its completely like real-life model sort of thing. And for the cityscape you can make it your own, but i try to make it as simple as possible so i dont have to do much work xD
Our classes are 3 hours long, and we have 3 classes a day so its a 12 hour day in the end, since we have a few breaks inbetween......

It is, I love my major. It's way less stressful than music ed was. I used to do days like you, and have tons of compositions to work on... concerts, whatever. Lol. I much prefer my life now.
I thought so. That has to make it at least a bit more bearable if you're able to use some of your own artistic creativity some of the time. Do you ever make a them of say...Ubume or something?

Ahahaha, oh god. Music sounds rough I like music but i know anything music related.........i'm dead. The most i did was playin the concert band in high school...on the flute AHAHHA
And yeah, I did some of Ubume, some of every OC i have LOL, alot of them are in stash right now just.....scribbles and doodles LOL

xD Don't get me wrong, I loved that major too, but yes it was rough. I remember one February I had at least one concert a week, but some weeks it was up to three concerts. On top of that I was in the highest level music theory class that had us doing at least one composition a week (GOD I STILL HATE COMPOSING!!! I suck hard core at it) and every day was an 8am class. I remember falling asleep during band I was so tired.
Lol. I'd not have pegged you as a flutist! That's pretty neat though. How long did you play? I used to play string bass though I'm kind of on a hiatus from it at the moment until I have the time to practice and eventually join up with a community orchestra.

AHAHA I took music theory.......no well I was just in a music class once upon a time. I sucked at it
8am? Soooo early Im ALWAYS dead on the first class. Almost all the time, if i have a class thats first...thats my lowest mark. xD
The flute was light so i chose it I played since grade 7 until grade 12, and I just joined like the highschool band cause...I dont know, the band nerds were fun xD And we went on trips alot so i got to leave school LOL
Recently my new stuff have been sooo crammy and uncleaned xD I really have no time to do things, but im juts trying to be semi-active so im not completely out of life xD

xD I sucked ass at the last music theory. Up until that point I was okay. It was 20th century music theory where the composers were all like "Hahahaha! Rules? What are ruuuuules? Here let me put random shapes and notes on the page and call it music. BWAHAHAHAHA HAVE FUN ANALYZING THIS! -Trollface-" At which point, I was completely turned off to music theory. Lol. It's the only class I've had to retake.
Oh god, me too. I remember my notes from that class. xD They were hilarious. It'd be all normal, then a jumble of letters mashed on top of each other and then a line down the page where I fell asleep. It was the same almost every day. xDDD
Lol. Nice reason for picking it. Yeah music geeks are a ton of fun. I was a total music geek in high school. Like.... 90% of the time if you needed to find me I was in the music wing. Lol. I don't think the rest of the school knew much about me. They maybe just knew me as a music geek.
PSH WHATEVER. Your stuff's so neat. How do you dooooooo it? XD I can't do neat to save my life with a tablet. Those chibis are STILL done with my trusty trackpad. That's the only reason they are cute. Problem is...my SAI isn't working right, neither is gimp. I cannot type anything and half the time it ignores my trackpad.... : < So chibis got a lot harder and more time consuming, not to mention frustrating. I'm going to have to figure out a way to fix SAI. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it's failed ever since my computer update.
Your stuff is always so beautiful! I love your style. I wish I could draw fullbody stuffs like you do. Mine's always a disaster and never really all pretty and neat.

xD I do laptop notes. That's the only way I can do it, and the best way for me to learn because it keeps me concentrated on whatever the professor is talking about.
I think it looks neat. I'm jealous of your style. xD You're one of the artists I look up to, really.
XD I use that liinework function in SAI -cheater- because I can't make neat lines on my trackpad to save my life! But with tablet I do my lines on sketchbookpro, so that I actually can have pressure. Do you have a mac by chance? I am wondering if that's why my stupid tablet doesn't work with SAI. I may have to get it on my boyfriend's computer, so that I can use the pressure.
Oh whatever, you have a style. I can always tell what is your work based on your shading, faces, and hair. ^ ^ I get excited when you post new stuffs.
