For most of my sketchbook assignments for school, they usually end up being pretty half-assed because I want to get them over with. However, I really liked the concept of this one so I decided to go all the way. The idea of this one was to “draw your hand holding an object”, but I went and threw in my own twist again.
I haven’t drawn many realistic hands like this one, but I think I did a pretty decent job. It may not be super detailed, but I tried my best. I used my own hand as the model (which is oddly small, round, and chubby), and I know I got quite a few parts off, but it’s still recognizable as a hand, right? I decided to name the dragon Irwin. Isn’t he cute? =3 I tried my best to make him realistic as well, though that’s not always possible with a dragon.Oh, by the way, I am working on the contest prizes. I’ve just been slowed down quite a bit by all these sketchbook assignments. I didn’t think art class this year would be so demanding.

Oh nice! I was googling for pictures for 'fox draw' because I wanted to see other peoples ways to draw foxes, and become inspired by them. I found this one, and I guess the 'fox' was in your name. Even though this was not was I was looking for, I really liked the little thumbnail and wanted to see it better.
At first I might think the hand looks rather claw-like, but when I read the description that your hand is rather short and round, and comparing to my own hand holding that way, I saw it's actually very good. (has small hands aswell) The shading is nice, and I think it's actually very well drawn. The dragon head looks like it is in a different angle compared to the rest of it's body, but the whole is very good, and it's just how I look at it.
Anyway, I've seen many pictures where a hand draws, which draws THAT hand. And yes, they're cool, but I like this one more. I love dragons, and this drawing really inspires me to try to draw something similar!
