Description
Aki flew slowly through the sky as the sun began to set, announcing that the day was going to end soon. She still wore the red dress that Divine had picked out for her that day and she silently wished that she had changed into something more practical before taking her nightly flight. It wasn’t that she didn’t like the dress, no, not at all. She loved it, the color, the style, Divine knew how to treat her well. However, when she flew she was free to be as wild as she wanted and being in a dress limited her freedom to do what she wanted to do.

She lazily twirled in the air, enjoying the wind around her and the last of the sun’s warmth on her skin.

“You fly every night Aki…”

Aki froze mid twirl and slowly sat upwards till she was almost in a sitting position waiting for the familiar voice to speak again.

“Every night you fly… You laugh and dance under the stars without a care in the world. But when you’re with him it’s a completely different story,” Yusei said from behind her. “Can’t you see that he is keeping you from being happy? Do you feel the chain he has placed around your neck to keep you near him? The cage to keep his song bird in?”

Aki closed her eyes when she felt him place his hands on her shoulders in a comforting gesture. “Why can’t you leave him?”

“He is the one who saved me Yusei,” she said, her voice trembling. “He accepted me when no one else would… he gave me a home! He gave me love…”

“I accept you. I can give you a home.” He paused and then turned her around to face him. He placed one hand beside her head and the other on her hand. “I love you.”

Aki froze, her brown eyes wide and her lips trembling.

“I know it’s a lot to take in right now… but please… when you decide to leave him come to me. You may not return my feelings but I know you think of me as a dear friend and I will accept that.”

His arms wrapped around her in a hug and he placed a kiss on her head, allowing her to go through everything he had just said and things that she had been trying to tell herself.

“Love isn’t a cage Aki, it’s a bond that goes both ways.”

Wow, never doing a picture all in one night ever again. I killed Yusei's hand lol And his mouth... and the wings... and the chain... But I like the concept a lot and I will be redoing this piece once I find time ^.^
