Mostly Vent Art, but there's also a bit Headcanon to it:Rarity and AJ were the first openly gay couple in Ponyville, so they had to face some homophobia here and there, because in my Headcanon Ponyville is a conservative, traditional, small town. I guess Rarity had a point where she just felt like running away (seen here) to escape the hatred.
Vent Art because I'm really sick of the homophobia I encounter daily on the Internet, especially Youtube. People who think homosexuality is a "perversion" and such. I'm trying not to start a fight with them and I don't take them seriously - there's just no point in that, these people live in the middle ages.
But here I wanna say, since it's Pride Month, and in behalf of every member of the LGBTQ+ community and all its supporters:

My parents aren't homophobic, though I haven't exactly come out to anyone but my mom. I'm just too nervous to tell my sisters and dad and I try to dissuade myself from telling them because they're busy or I think they don't care or something. My friend told me writing a letter helps but I haven't done that yet. I am worried that my grandma will ask me one day "Oh, so are you seeing a guy" or something. She wouldn't be happy about it for sure. Though luckily she's not the kind who'll try and hook people up.

I'm with you when you say you hate when people who doesn't like homosexuals. Like people should be able to love whoever without being treated like they shouldn't exist. I've dealt with this hatred so many times and I'm just sick of it! I mainly get angry because I'm like 50% Bisexual and 50% Asexual. And I also support LBGT Community and will fight anyone who goes against them. Plus my dad is a HUGE Homophobe and it makes me sad that I can't tell what my sexuality is. Anyway, Happy Pride Month! (I'm a bit lateπ )

I live in a town that's teeming with old Baptist homophobes. One of the myriad reasons why I stopped going to church is because I got sick of some dusty old fart talking about "shameful, sinful gays" and all that junk. Let's take a look at what Jesus said about gays. (rummages through the bible).

God, the world can be so cruel. I try not to develop a victim mentality; I am very proud of who I am and the struggles my community has overcome. But it hurts sometimes, it really, really hurts when I look into the eyes of a self-hating child who doesn't understand why they have this 'sickness.' It hurts when I see a grown up who is just so damn tired of their own selves because they world has taught them to be ashamed of who they are. And with every suicide, a light goes out in our beautiful, diverse community, and a light goes out in me as well.

I try to avoid fights the most I can, they are a waste of time and they only make you feel bad and stressed. Sadly, you canβt avoid them all the time. And then you have to stand people who wonβt just change their minds.Β
