Description
Here's a commission for ~abellius of 3 classes of Miralukan soldiers for a Star Wars RP. I'll likely be doing an additional 3 designs in the future.I'm also testing out a mosaic watermark on this image. The goal is for it to be completely unobtrusive for viewing, but almost impossible to edit out and easy to read. Don't worry, I wont be putting this on all of my images, let me know what you think about it
Each soldier has been given cybernetic eyes to allow then normal vision in conjunction with their natural force powers, which are also enhanced with temple implants.
All the suits are fully sealed and can attach air tanks for operations in vacuum or hazardous atmospheres. They can also equip jet packs for zero-g ops. Armored helmets contain coms gear and information displays, with supplemental communications and planning gear in wrist devices or pads.
On the left is the Recon/Sniper class. It's helmet has enhanced optics for surveillance and spotting. Loadout is generally light in order to remain mobile. Common primary weapon choices are a designated marksman blaster rifle (shown held), or for missions that call for extra power, a much larger combination blaster/projectile rifle.
Center is an Infiltrator class suit. It's loadout is the lightest and suit materials the most flexible for quick and stealthy movement. The soles of it's boots have special friction pads that allow it to scale walls. This character carries a light saber, pistol, and small knives.
Right most is the heavy trooper. With heavy armor and weapons it can take and deal out a lot of damage. Currently it carries a hip mounted tri-barrel blaster with large capacitors and cooling mechanisms.

Hehe, they are all designed to do specific tasks, they're fine as they are. IN the future I'll be designing more of them, they're easy for me to draw up and different classes require different details so I don't reuse anything. Each new class is also a new opportunity to draw from a different angle, which helps to show off a new view of common parts.

Also the eyes from the first two eyes look like they see into your soul, So they would work well for Doom.

Okay, yet again, consider my humble self inspired. Why do I get the feeling that when I finish with my designs and commit them to putty, they're going to look like a poorly made homage?

Sweet designs. I noticed the watermark, though it was very clever. It doesn't make the background look plain either.

I love the very tight and defined dimensions of the characters, clean definition and neutrally-evil disposition. Something i'd see in a Half Life 2-Assassins Creed Hybrid Game

I like the poses, and the style you have. This is a great piece here. I can never seem to get my poses to look good. Any suggestions?

A little hard to critique what you have because your gallery is empty. But good advice for everyone is to use photo references for study, and of course practice as much as you can. I didn't use reference for these because I know proportions and basic posing well enough, but whenever there is skin visible I will almost always use a photo to make sure I get the shading and anatomy correct on my people.

Fantastic designs. I really like the combination of soft ballistic fabric and more solid armored plates. The designs all have a sense of mass, and I appreciate the clear positioning of extra gear and ammo. A great combination of realism and scifi. Great work as always.

nice, but not really feeling "Star Wars" from it.
Then again, if you watch Clone Wars, the best "new" races & settings are the ones that introduce something radically different, like the Halo feeling to Umbaran tech.
The watermark is brilliant, honestly I can barely see it!

Had lots of visual reference provided by Abellius so the results were pretty controlled, but me and him like what came out. I think with starwars some things clearly fit while others are washy, plenty of canon designs get away with having no classic SW aesthetic, so I didn't feel pressed to include any details that force the likeness, aside from weapons and some equipment. I think if these were places in a starwarsy setting with familiar design anchors around they'd pass as fitting in.

yeah it's true that context counts for a lot. Do you watch Clone Wars, by any chance?
