Description
Here's a commission for ~abellius of 3 classes of Miralukan soldiers for a Star Wars RP. I'll likely be doing an additional 3 designs in the future.I'm also testing out a mosaic watermark on this image. The goal is for it to be completely unobtrusive for viewing, but almost impossible to edit out and easy to read. Don't worry, I wont be putting this on all of my images, let me know what you think about it
Each soldier has been given cybernetic eyes to allow then normal vision in conjunction with their natural force powers, which are also enhanced with temple implants.
All the suits are fully sealed and can attach air tanks for operations in vacuum or hazardous atmospheres. They can also equip jet packs for zero-g ops. Armored helmets contain coms gear and information displays, with supplemental communications and planning gear in wrist devices or pads.
On the left is the Recon/Sniper class. It's helmet has enhanced optics for surveillance and spotting. Loadout is generally light in order to remain mobile. Common primary weapon choices are a designated marksman blaster rifle (shown held), or for missions that call for extra power, a much larger combination blaster/projectile rifle.
Center is an Infiltrator class suit. It's loadout is the lightest and suit materials the most flexible for quick and stealthy movement. The soles of it's boots have special friction pads that allow it to scale walls. This character carries a light saber, pistol, and small knives.
Right most is the heavy trooper. With heavy armor and weapons it can take and deal out a lot of damage. Currently it carries a hip mounted tri-barrel blaster with large capacitors and cooling mechanisms.

Cybernetic eye and temple implants, so they can see, but I'm pretty sure that you can use the force to aim a weapon. My knowledge is very limited (to the movies) but even Luke fires torpedoes at the deathstar using only the force to be sure of the ship/torpedoes orientation.

Yeah I think if force sensitivity allows one to deflect blaster fire, (by reading the threat intentions of the firer) it must also enable one to direct it!

Looking at these awesome concepts just makes me wish for a Republic Commando 2 that much harder.

The Sniper could probably have a more detailed visor/goggles seeing that they're meant for recon/long range support. Other than that, this is pretty amazing. That Heavy Weapons class is da baws.

So far in the future, I'd assume even small lens sensors like that have very powerful magnification and multispectrum abilities.

Oh. Saw the thing about the cybernetics. Seems a bit moot when they can all see through force sensitivity, though.

Implants engineered by an insect type race that controls this group of em, so I'm sure they're just trying to get more bang for their buck

Ah, they're slaves. That makes a bit more sense, then. Actually I'd see it as being the other way around, where they get cybernetically subjugated by way of brain implant, but that screws up their force powers and they need to add eyes to compensate. I had a hard time imagining a Miraluka volunteering for that surgery otherwise.

These Miralukans have cybernetic eyes and temple implants to enhance their Force powers and be allowed to see things differently from their normal Force sight.
Centuries before the Old Republic was formed, some Miralukans were abducted from their homeworld and taken as slaves by an insectoid race (non-canon), but as time went on, the relationship between the two species went from master-slave to both being equals and allies.
The main reason these cybernetic implants were installed in these Miralukans soldiers was to enhance their combat abilities (the Force and eye perceptions) to defend against another alien species that was bent in exterminating them and their former insectoid masters.

I think initially they were slaves, but in their current state/time they have more free will, and in my talks with the commissioner there was nothing brought up about them being brainwashed. So I think it's a clean case of them being given helpful tech to aid the cause, fighting space worms.

What did you use to create these? I see alot of concept art that is in this same sort of gray style and i really like it, but I'm wondering what you use to do it? Is it a computer program or some sort of marker?
I really like the Heavy Trooper's design.
Also, the watermark is fantastic.

I use photoshop, but the greyscale style is imitating the use of ink pens and copic grey makers for rapid concept work.
I do a quick sketch, then fill it all in with a darker grey so that I can see the silhouette better, from there I just add more detailed lines and shades to build it up. Simple work. (how good it looks is based on your overall skills, not the technique)

Not a problem, critique and fact checking is always good. These guys are all given cybernetic temple and eye implants, enhancing their force powers and vision (I assume beyond normal human capability).

Shimmy drew them. I just provided the ideas for basically what I wanted since it was my commission that I wanted him to do.
In the future, he will be doing 3 more soldier concepts along the same line - medic, infantry, and commander.

I like the rifle, but it's the part that's most jarring in a "Star Wars" context, IMHO

Because it isn't a Republic or Imperial type weapon?
You should see all the crazy weapon designs in the Star Wars Revised - Arms & Equipment RPG book.

Very good work! I especially like the design in the middle, particularly mask/headgear. The "eyes" on it look positively creepy.
About the watermark, it's a perfect idea: I didn't see it until I read it was there, you might as well put it in every one of your works if you like since it's so unobtrusive. It being a mosaic probably helps it blend as if it was "background noise". It isn't exactly easy to read though, at least not with my monitor settings, unless I look hard or at a high angle, which distorts the color balance enough to make it clear.

I made the mosaic for commissioners that request their work be well protected when I upload it. While I haven't had any serious thefts (money making) yet, I know that a lot of my work is used without permission elsewhere. While it is overall very subtle, it might be bothersome when you look at small details, so I don't want to put it on everything just yet.
