Here's the whole situation
Sonic is a fearless cool hero guy with one big fear: Amy his stalker number one fan and she's super cool and beats up people with her huge hammer. Sonic DOES like Amy to some degree however, we just don't know how much.
Amy has bad eyesight and mistaked Shadow for Sonic. Shadow didn't really care; but it's hinted that he does like (at least as a friend) because she reminds him of a lost friend. So Shadow respects her.
Silver is insecure and afraid of being alone and Amy SOMEHOW mistaked Silver for Sonic, and tackled him which caused Silver to panic. Amy hit him because he was an imposter and since Silver is the awkward child he apologized to her for not being who she wanted him to be. Amy forgave him and she dragged Silver along on an adventure he never asked for and Silver grew to really like Amy (Friend love whatever) especially since he's insecure of being alone. But due to this whole mishap that wasn't any real characters fault Amy abandoned Silver which left him really lonely
and then everything got erased from time lol

There's not enough female characters, and Silver with his high heels, eyeliner, long 'hair', and friendly naïve nature makes him a perfect teenage "gal pal" for Amy ironically.

I have no friends in this fandom XD But this fandom can be awful. In one game the antagonist said "Look at him being all fastand stuff he makes me sick" which is literally the fandom in a nutshell lol
