Amazing work! So emotional and beautiful! I saw this in journal, she has it featured there. Once I saw it, I knew that I had to come check out your entire gallery. Am so looking forward to doing just that. But first, wanted to drop you an note and let you know how wonderful it was to see this beautiful work in her journal. So glad she featured you there.

This is amazing in its detail. The expressiveness of the hands holding those booties so tenderly. Somehow this makes me sad, as though either the child has died, or maybe just grown up and moved far away....I love how worn the booties are....just fantastic, all of it.

I find when someone can draw that powerfully realistic, they can draw just about any mundane thing and it looks more fabulous than any photograph.
maybe its because the viewer knows the implications behind such work.

also I find its so much more fun to draw something old and ugly, not that these hands are there yet, but just as a statement
I would prefer to draw the hands of someone with very wrinkled skin, gnarled looking fingers and joints,
than to something s mooth and perfect.

even though it is just someone's hands holding something the way you drew it gives it so much emotion, i dont know why but when I looked at it I just wanted to cry (and not just b/c I wish I could draw like that . You did such a wonderful job, few sketches I see can potray emotion and the fact you could do that with hands and a pair of shoes.... well it's just beautiful

This is a spectacular piece of art, definitely. The hands look very lifelike, and the attention to detail is exquisite. I love the shadows in the wrist, and the fingernail imperfections..making it look perfect.

The one thing I admire about this piece is the faded lines in the leather. That was probably the thing that blew me away, these seemingly little things that just made the art come together..

The one thing I would critique: The shoelaces. As soon as you look at the picture you see these splendidly sculpted hands, and then these drawn shoelaces. I'm not sure why I picked up on this, but the shoelaces do look drawn.

But of course, amazingly, the drawing is just that...a drawing...but such a splendid one I still feel it reverbrating..Its like I can feel those shoes also...

Thanks again for a drawing worthy of many praises.
