The glasses have to stay. The first thought I had when I saw this picture was of a man facing a challenge for which he wasn't prepared. He looks determined, yes, but I also see a hint of apprehension in whatever destiny lies before him. If you just wanted to photograph "a boxer", with boxing gloves and a mouthpiece, you could have done that but it would have portrayed an entirely different emotion. To me, anyway.

great shot!
but the glasses do have to go i think.
this image relies on the fighter's eyes. the glasses detract from the concentrative look, and more importantly, cover his eye.
one might also think that his eyes are all black, because the glasses arm hides the white of his eye, a defining point to eyes in B&W.
keep up the good work!

Great light mate!
What i see hmm its a tough one ... but something fightclubish actually like his first fight and he really seems to concentrate and gather all his thoughts for it .... he is not going to loose this one!

Very powerful and I love the lighting, however I think the glasses should go. They spoil the otherwise clean lines and if the guy is to be believeable as a fighter (With that pose) the glasses are out of place...
Still

Thanks a whole lot, you. The fragility of the glasses (as well as the rest of his office-look) are supposed to contrast the fighter posture, and I think it works as I intended, so I wont let them go.
But thank you very much for being constructive. A lot of people need that spirit on dA these days.

the blown highlights on his left hand is unfortunate, and the pose looks a tad forced, but this is otherwise well executed. the lighting, hence mood & tones work wonderfully with each other.

Thank you. Yes, the burnout is a little unfortunate. I'll see if I can fix it.

i love this picture. it makes me think of everyday people tackling everyday life. and it really is like a fight. sometimes we think life is simple, but it sure isn't. such a nice simple, but deep shot. good job
