Description
"Still falling
Breathless and on again
Inside today
Beside me today
Around, broken in two
Till your eyes shed
Into dust
Like two strangers
Turning into dust
Till my hand shook
With the way I fear
I could possibly be fading
Or have something more to gain
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your fate
Under your fate"
Mazzy Star - "Into Dust"
--
I've been wanting to draw something like this for ages. I used to be able to dance... quite well, even. I loved it. And now... well. Now it's hard to even think about dancing, much less be around it. When I see it, when I remember when I used to be able to do that... it breaks my heart and I feel like I'm falling into nothingness.
/emo, maybe
edit holy crap a DD? I've never had one of those before O.O; *blush* It wasn't easy for me to decide to show this level of vulnerability with this pic but wow. I'm truly touched by this.

I found your dA through a friend, and i was just flipping through because your art is amazing, but.... this really touched me.
Thank you for showing this and allowing us to see this vulnerability. I can relate and it made me cry (in a good way). Thank you SO much for posting your art.

This piece is amazing - it's deep, thoughtful, emotional and really hits home. I understand the feelings behind this as I deal with a dissability as well. to be that beaten down by your on body -having to watch life and what you love pass you by is a pain deeper than any other. You've displayed that emotion sincerely and beautifuly.

I really, really love this picture. It conveys so much emotion, and its been brilliantly done, and it's amazing, and... I have no more words.
May I use this as the cover photo for my poem "She Wants to Fly"? Your picture just exemplifies exactly what I was trying to write.

This is beautiful and it really touched a nerve for me. I was recently diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disease, people find it hard to understand why I've pushed some things to the side so I can do the things I wont be able to in a few years time.
It's always hard to show vulnerability to others, I find it's the hardest think i can do because I don't like feeling weak.
I love this picture because it's brave of you to share the emotions, but despite being so simple, it's beautiful and to the point. I love it.

This peice is truly beautiful. I know how you feel about the dancing, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 5 years ago. It's hard and frustrating, and sometimes you just have to draw your feelings out. This expression in this drawing is amazing.

I understand that feeling. I used to be able to love to run, but after getting the swine flu in the summer of '09 my lungs were shot to hell and I went from being a healthy body weight to almost 200 pounds, and my self confidence went way down. For me, though, it's something I can work away. I couldn't imagine not ever being able to run again.

I can understand where you are coming from...where as I am not confined to a wheelchair (yet) I have an illness that makes me so tired I can barely make it through 6 hours a day just staying awake, not counting any activity. I can't do anything anymore.

I think this shows that real art is that which communicates with the heart. Abstract designs have no way of conveying emotion the way something simple like this can. Absolutely beautiful.
I think you should offer this as a print here. There are several people here that appear to be able to relate to this image directly or through loved ones. Perhaps you can help them with this.
I love your comic and am glad that you are drawing again. I really hope to see more work like this from you. I am always a fan of any work that people put their heart into for the world to see.
And to quote Galaxy Quest just to lighten the mood: "Never give up! Never surrender!"

Firstly, HUGE hugs ~ just because.
Secondly, this piece is so moving and inspiring.
It is clever and thought-provoking.
It is emotional, heart-breaking to read you can no longer dance.
But don't let the physical facts stops your mind and heart from doing what your body once could; inside of us, nothing can stop our happiness.
(or something like that ~ the piece is amazing!)

this really speaks a lot to me, I've had to watch my brothers go through many leg operations in there lifetimes and it always made me sad when they have to be confined in a wheelchair for what felt like forever, then having to listen to the ridicule of people who thought it was funny of what was happening to them. but this is just amazing I love it so much, and this made me feel so much better after a crappy day. thank you.
