For whatever reason, mecha art just always looks better with some kind of outline. That seems to be the rule with all I've seen on DA.

Not to knock the old models, which are also beautiful, but I prefer the cell shaded versions. You've definately mastered the Front Mission artwork style.

Actually, if you're looking for an official FM artbook, one gigantic and fully comprehensive one is out. It's very expensive, but for a FM fan, it's like their "Perfect Works":

No problem. I got it myself, and I think you'll like it. It's huge and a finely made artbook and it has character art, wanzer art, and so much data about all of the FM games. It's like an enormous game guide and art book in one. It also looks impressive sitting on the shelf.

Im very gratefull for your info Ann (is it ?) .. thank you so much .. i've already asked my friend to reserved it for me .. cause i can't find any in here ..
Too bad i can only enjoy the art and not the stories (i can't read japanesse) ^_^

You're very welcome. Yep, it's Ann. Well, the good thing is you're closer to the source than I am, so you probably don't have to wait too long to enjoy it. Over here in the US, unless you go to Kinokuniya or one of the Japanese bookstores in the big cities like NYC, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, you also won't find it.

I can't read much Japanese, either (as in, not beyond JPN 101 and whatever I can phonetically sound out in katakana). But that's why I'm also glad the art is enjoyable. There are some nice excerpts about the years of the Huffman Conflicts and all of the stuff going on between the USN and the OCU in English on the chapter openings, though. XD

BTW, are you getting the FM1 DS (or do you already have it)? I'm picking it up - we get it in October - and I also want FM5. I've only played the demo to FM3 but what a demo that was!

Hmm .. i havent get the FM1 DS (is it new ?) .. i should check for it ... hehehe now im playing SD Gundam G Gen Crossdrive for DS too ... I heard that FM5 wasn't translated into English .. gosh .. so I didn't buy it that time .. now i have to find it just like to find a needle in the ocean ...

Yeah, it's basically a DS port and slight remake - apparently, characters from FM5 show up in it since they were part of the Huffman Conflicts - and I think the official S-E site should be advertising it already.

Seems like you're enjoying FM5. Lucky you!
