Me puttering over poses & pencils w/ Decepticon Dourjer, Metatisic. I don't know when he'll be done as I have a few other things in front of him at the moment.Someone asked so I’ll tell ya that drawing transformers, or just mecha in general is a lot like graphing building construction. Lots and lots of circles, squares, etc. lines. I wish there was a direct ‘Draw like a pro in 48 hours’ manual I could give, but there just isn’t one. Every mecha artist has their own approach. I haven’t met a one yet that does things exactly the same as the person before.
All I can offer is to just practice and bare in mind that you are always learning. There is no such thing as 'the end' here.

very cool. i always have problems with characters that have chunky designs... you seem to be handling his pose well with the design you have. ^^ i really like his lower leg design btw.

one thing that seems odd to me is the right lower leg in comparison to the left. it seems thinner for some reason, though i'm sure it's the angle. d'oh!
and hey... no problaimo. and what's this "what are you doing in here?" i full view nearly all your deviations! i really enjoy your work. ^_^

Very very true on how to approach mechas. We all do it in our own way.

I prefer it that way actually. I love being able to look at at piece of art and know immediately who it is even without seeing a name. I love individual style.

The pose is sexy and the details are amazing on many levels. And i'll agree with that, mecha is alot like graphing.. xD I suck at graphing so my mecha is all blah but woooow.. everything you draw is like right on, perfect size and just sweet.

Yeah, I always admire the people who can draw mechas, for they must have mountains of patience, love for detail, and a bunch of other stuff, 'cause every time I try and draw mecha, I fail at it miserably ^__^;
