November 12th 2017; 00:12am - Hannah's POV.
Hannah lay awake in bed, her eyes fixed on the clock as another contraction hit. She whimpered, pulling the pillow closer to her as she curled up, closing her eyes as she counted. 1..2..3..4.. Within 30 seconds it was over and she looked at the time, pulling out a notepad and writing down the time and length of the contraction.
"2 hour and 4 minutes.." She whispered to herself, Lewis rolling over to face her as he heard her.
"Everything alright?.." He asked groggily, rubbing his eyes. Hannah nodded in response, shifting slightly with a soft grunt.
"Another contraction.." She murmured softly, "Think that's the fifth one now.." She breathed, rubbing her stomach. Lewis smiled tiredly, rubbing her arm.
"I think you'll have him or her at around..1pm." He murmured as Hannah leant her head on his chest, sighing.
"11am.." Hannah murmured before closing her eyes. He kept her close for the rest of the night, both of them soon falling asleep. He woke up every now and then when Hannah got another contraction, before falling back to sleep once again, only to be woken an hour or so later.
8:51am;
"Lew~" Hannah groaned as she lay on the sofa, her face etched with pain as yet another contraction came. Her hands were balled into tight fists as Lewis came into the room, rubbing her back as always.
"10 minutes apart.." Hannah whimpered, leaning her head against Lewis' chest.
"Maybe you should take a bath, I'll call the midwife if you want.." He said softly, knowing that the hot water might soothe her pain. Hannah nodded, waiting for the contraction to be over before she pulled herself up, waddling off to the bathroom. She left the bathroom door unlocked, knowing it'd be no help if she locked it, and it was only Lewis in the house anyway. In her minutes away from the pain, she tried to imagine what her son or daughter would look like, brown hair and blue eyes, or maybe blonde hair and brown eyes. Maybe the child would be a spitting image of her or Lewis, a miniature version of them. She grinned softly at the thought, imagining the future; a tiny clone of Lewis tinkering away with computers like his dad, or a tiny clone of Hannah with a mild obsession for anything fluffy or cute. They might even be a combination of the two, or nothing like either of them. She shook her head, still smiling as she climbed into the water, continuing to focus on those thoughts.
Hannah was in the bath for a while, having another 4 contractions whilst in there but the water helped. As she stood to get out of the water she whimpered as she felt the beginnings of another contraction. She was about to sit down when she heard a small pop, and something trickled down her leg.
"Lewis!"
9:26am - Lewis' POV.
Lewis had spent a lot of the morning fussing over Hannah, making sure every one of her needs was catered to. Whenever she was in pain, he was there. As her pains had started to get more regular he had called for Hannah's midwife whilst he told Hannah to go take a bath. His mind was all over the place, trying to set up everything for Hannah; towels, blankets, water and god knows what else. He'd jump at every little noise she'd made, every grunt, groan or whimper he'd come rushing. So when he heard Hannah's yell from the bathroom, he practically dropped the mug of coffee he was holding and ran to the bathroom, opening the door.
"What's going on?!" He asked frantically, moving over to Hannah so she could take hold of him.
"W-waters~" She groaned, taking deep breaths as she gripped his shoulders tightly to keep her balance. Lewis' hands travelled to her lower back, rubbing small circles in her back as he whispered words of encouragement. Once he knew her pain was gone for the next few minutes, he took the chance to move her.
"C'mon, let's get you back downstairs.." He murmured, helping her walk back to the front room.
11:09am - Hannah's POV.
After another 2 hours of pain, Hannah fell back into Lewis, exhausted. Her head swam as she listened to the cries of her newborn child and found herself crying too, a wide grin on her face. The baby was passed to her, wrapped in a soft white blanket as Lewis held her from behind, keeping her close.
"A little girl.." The midwife informed them, though both of the new parents never tore their eyes away from their child. Lewis could feel tears running down his cheeks and he chuckled at himself, wiping them.
"I'm so proud of you~" He whispered to Hannah, kissing her head gently. Hannah simply smiled in response, too caught up in her child to care right now. The child had a thin head of blonde hair, and quite chubby cheeks which reminded her of Lewis.
"Robyn Louise Brindley.." Hannah whispered, her voice hushed as she looked down at her daughter, her eyes soft with love for the tiny bundle in her arms. After a while, Hannah was moved to the bedroom where she'd be most comfortable, Lewis supplying her with several pillows to help keep her comfortable. The midwife had left the pair in peace once she was satisfied that everything was okay and that Hannah wasn't having any trouble that Lewis couldn't handle. Hannah lay beneath the quilts, her daughter laying on the pillow next to her, fast asleep.
"She's perfect.." Hannah said softly, her gaze never wandering from her daughter.
"Do you mind if I hold her?" Lewis asked as he brought a small, basket like cot into the bedroom for Robyn to sleep in that night. Hannah nodded, finally looking away from her daughter to look at Lewis as he very carefully lifted his tiny daughter, chuckling as she squirmed slightly.
"Hey little'un.." He said in a hushed tone, being extremely gentle with the baby. Hannah grinned at him as he did so, watching how he was suddenly caught up in her. Hannah yawned as Lewis sat down on the edge of the bed, playing with his daughter's hands.
"Get some rest Han.." He said softly, looking over at her, "I love you.."
"I love you too." Hannah breathed before her eyes closed, leaving Lewis to bond with his new daughter.
