Sitting alone on a stack of hay at an abandoned farm, AJ is suddenly approached by three vicious-looking hyenas who joins and offers him their company.

Shenzi: *Slowly walking up to AJ* "Hey, fellas, look what we have here."

AJ: *Frightened and quickly grabs a stick and holds it out in front of himself, trying to ward the hyenas off*

Banzai: "Hey, relax, kid. We're not gonna hurtcha. Scout's.... or Hyena's honor." *Raising his right paw*

AJ: "What do you mutts want?" *Still holding the stick out in front*

Banzai: "'Mutts'? Hey, don't call us that. I HATE that word!"

Shenzi: "Banzai, please." *Walks up to AJ and stands before him* "We've been travelling non-stop through these lands for five straight days with no food or water."

Banzai: "Yeah. We're starving-hungry, and there ain't no stinkin' entrees around!"

AJ: "You're not going to eat ME are you?"

Banzai: "No. Course not, kid. We don't eat humans.... unless they pose as a threat to us. But we would greatly appreciate it if you gave us a little somethin' to chow down on. I don't think we have the strength to go another night travelling without food."

AJ: "Sorry. I don't have any food on me."

*All three hyenas pout and grumble*

Banzai: "Aw, man.... When are we ever gonna catch a break?!"

AJ: *Puts the stick down* "But I may have food back at my place."

*The hyenas' eyes and ears shoot up in excitement with their tails wagging*

Shenzi: "You do?"

AJ: "Yeah. But you'll have to do a bit more travelling. My place is quite the distance from here."

Banzai: *Looking at the farmhouse* "I would think THIS was your place, kid."

AJ: "Nope. I'm just here sitting in the sunset."

*Shenzi hops on a haystack and sits next to AJ while Banzai hops and sits on the highest one*

Shenzi: "Have you got a name?"

AJ: "Alvin Jr. But everyone just calls me A.J."

Shenzi: "I'm Shenzi."

Banzai: "I'm Banzai."

Ed: *Chuckling with his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth and raises his paw and waves it from side to side at AJ."

Shenzi: "And he's Ed. He doesn't speak. He's a little errr…… what's the word? 'Off'."

AJ: "No offense, but you guys look a little too weird for dogs."

Banzai: "That's because we're not, kid. We're hyenas."

AJ: "Is that somewhat like a dog?"

Banzai: "Yeah.... except a lot more wild and ferocious."

AJ: "Where are you from?"

Shenzi: "The Pridelands."

AJ: "Where's that?"

Banzai: "WAAAAY out, kid."

AJ: "Well why did you choose to come here? This place is dangerous."

Shenzi: "Dangerous? Pfft. If there's anything on these desolate lands that's dangerous, it's us."

AJ: "No, you don't understand. These lands are infested with walkers."

Banzai: "Walkers? What the heck is a 'Walker'?"

AJ: "They're the undead. They were once people, but once they die they come back as these ugly rotting creatures that feed off the living."

Banzai: "That's nothing new to us. We feed off of other living creatures to survive, too."

AJ: "No, I don't think it's for survival. They're already dead; they just have this uncontrollable appetite and just can't stop eating for some reason."

Shenzi: "Well if this place is so dangerous, what are you doing out here all by yourself, then?"

AJ: "I had to get away for a while. Hearing people constantly fight and argue really gets to me, ya know?"

Shenzi: "Still, you shouldn't be out here by yourself."

Banzai: "Yeah, kid. You're lucky we found you when we did."

Shenzi: "And, since when have you ever cared about anything other than your APPETITE, Banzai?"

Banzai: "I mean.... we GOTTA eat."

AJ: "Speaking of which, you want to come with me to see if my group can cook you up something?"

Ed: *Frantically nods his head with thick slobber flinging from his hanging tongue*

Shenzi: *Takes AJ's hand and cuddles it with both paws while rubbing against his arm with her head like a cat* "AJ, if you do this for us, we'll be sure that nothing ever happens to you. We'll watch your back at all times and make sure that no 'Walker' ever gets to you OR your folks." *Glares at Ed and Banzai* "Isn't that right, fellas?"

Banzai: "Yeah. The kid's pretty cool. Maybe humans aren't as bad as we once thought."

Ed: *Walks up to AJ and gives him a big lick on the cheek*
