Description It's been a long while since my last sketchdump. ^^
From top to bottom:

- Dimetron grandis new look, based on Scott Hartman's ground-breaking skeletal

- A sitting/lying around generic basal theropod

- Zhenyuanlong doodle

- Megaraptorid doodles

- Elmisaurus attacking a snake with its feet, as suggested by an SVP study presentation

Thank you, it's really not much. ^^They're just messy sketches. I hope to get the time
to make more finalised paleo-works. ^^

your welcome, its cool i love sketch art like this it just looks nice to me
but finishing it also sounds cool and it would look more clear, i also forgot to say i like how you went with the more mammalian dimetrodon

Thank you !

Sketches always have this little bonus quality that make them endearing in their "unifinished-ness". ^^
And I as for Dimetrodon's look, many artists and scientists before me recently revamped our vision of Dimetrodon,
from a too reptilian creature to a more mammalian synapsid, as it is. ^^ Again, thank you !

your welcome

that is a very true point

The video by Trey the Explainer I guess. Indeed though nothing is sure at the moment,
it has become obvious that we much change the way we see and reconstruct stem-mammals. ^^

the very same one
true that, though we should remember we shouldn't go FULL mammalian as it was just shortly after the split from reptiles

I fully agree. ^^Though they've never been "reptiles" in the scientific definition of the term.
We should call their ancestors, early synapsids and older ones amniotes.

really? i thought the things they split from were the archosaurs, did they come from these "amnoite" things?

Archosaurs and synapsids have split long ago ! To make it short it goes as follows:
you have amniotes like Hylonomus and then a split between Synapsids (mammals and closely related families including Dimetrodon) and
the diapsids (who include most true reptiles, including archosaurs). I hope it's clearer this way. ^^

oh ok then, you see i didn't know there was a bit before archosaur i don't know what they were
yes it has cleared alot and it was super interesting thanks

No prob, man ! Phylogenetics and classification are tricky things. ^^
I'm glad I could help.

its more like i wasn't ever taught that i only hear "reptiles split into mammals" and that's it

and thanks you really did help

Scientific education does need some progress in many of our countries. ^^
Glad it helped.
