Nekomata, one of many youkai, supernatural monsters in Japanese folklore. It's a seemingly ordinary cat that developed magical nature through long life. It's commonly thought that a cat will turn into a Nekomata after turning 100 years old, where upon it's tail splits and gains a variety of magical abilities and sometimes even human speech. While a Nekomata tends to be smarter than a normal cat, it tends to remain just as moody and whimsical, which can be dangerous with its newfound magical powers, which range from simple illusions to transformation or even necromancy. The latter can be explained by the fact that cats are generally associated with death.
Some of them live in mountains, where they abduct and eat hapless travellers and wanderers. Sometimes they transform into beautiful women in order to fool their prey and make things easier for them.
However, it can also be a domestic cat that turned into a Nekomata and therefore lives in a human household. Such a Nekomata isn't always a feral beast but can also act as benevolent guardian spirit if treated well during its life as a regular cat.

At first I picked Nekomata for my son because just like it he looks like pretty normal, yet hides some of his abilities in order to fool his enemies by giving them false reassurence about his true potential. However, he was still quite inexperienced, so his combat and deception skills left much to be desired. Now that Nekomata has assumed a human form that could deceive pretty much any horny teenager, it shows that Tsukasa worked on and improved all his abilities - but especially the ability to deceive his enemies and, if really necessary, his friends - that are necessary to get through the hell known as Kirimori alive.

That, and I wanted to draw some fanservice. I mean, look at dem melons and delicious thighs~
