Description
As the vicious Timberwolf closed in on the exhausted girl, Rainbow Dash shut her eyes tight; her life began to flash before her eyes. And BOY did she have some issues in her past... but that's not the point. Just as the animal was about to bring its massive jaws down on Rainbow Dash's body, a black figure leaped out into the open, clutching what appeared to be a gemstone in his hand.

"Back off, you beast!" the hedgehog shouted. All he got as an answer was a howl from the Timberwolf and a snarl as it prepared to attack him. Smirking, Shadow stood ready for the creature. "You asked for it..." he growled. The gem in his hand gave off a bright glow, then a blast of foreign energy, spooking the creature, which took off running with its tail between its legs.

Rainbow Dash slowly opened one eye and saw her rescuer.

"Who are you?" she asked, arching an eyebrow.

The hedgehog looked her right in the eye. "I'm Shadow; Shadow the Hedgehog."
