Description I'm surprised I actually had the motivation to do this tonight aswell
It's a little sketchier than I wanted it to be, but I was running out of patience hence the obvious anatomy errors in the flat colour designs, but oh well I'll try to keep up with her character and develop her more with more drawings

Background on Aquanova
Aquanova was born unique. Her colouration didn't match any of her pod, and she grew much, much larger than the average Orca. Because of this, she became an outcast, unaccepted by the Orca race due to her differences. Therefore she lives a solitary life, uncommon of the usually social Orca. As a result, she lacks the social skills of common Orcas and sometimes has a short temper with others.
Because of her uniqueness, sightings of her by humans has her on a wanted list. She has gotten into trouble with human encounters a few times, hence the part of her dorsal missing due to a spear gun. However her sheer size and power lets her escape any human attempt to capture her. She is now feared by all due to Aquanova attacking humans, severely injuring many and causing a fatality.
This occured due to another capture attempt, which resulted in the sinking of the Hunter Boat from the self defense of Aquanova. She never attacks out of aggression, only to hunt and protect herself.
Therefore nowadays she is even more alone than before. Sightings of her are rare and brief, but some have had the rare privilege to witness her playfully jumping through the waves.
She often longs for a friend.

Very cool, and thorough, reference sheet. Captions are always a nice thing to include, to explain whatever otherwise could be misinterpreted for a mistake.

Mind if I try drawing her sometime?

Not at all! I'd love for you to draw her! I'm a frequent secret visitor to your gallery
I love others drawing my characters, so go right ahead! Can't wait to see what you do!

Thank you, for your permission, and for visiting! Much appreciated.

I can't promise anything immediate, but I love to explore ideas that feature unique characters. And Aquanova is certainly that. We'll see what comes of it.

I was about to comment, she is much too large to be in danger from puny humans. Are you developing a fuller story about her? The eternal loneliness is rather sad.
Her stylization is cool with the use strong purple/blue hues, and I'm a fan of the idea of a gigantic orca. *cough* There's some drawings in my gallery that amount to the same thing. Maybe it's just something about the species that makes them seem bigger than they really are. In future drawings (though you've already noted the anatomy difficulties in the author comments), you might want to make her fins narrower at the base.
Anyhow, nice job on her! Looks fun to work on.

I may do in future works yes Depends whether I'm lazy or not haha. But I'm happy she already has a fan!
Yeah after watching a few videos from Sea World Orlando I was surprised that they aren't actually as big as I thought they were. I thought they were a lot bigger than that. But still, Shamu's quite huge haha I really want to go see the Believe show, but I doubt it'll happen for me.
Were her fins correct in the other piece? I wasn't sure how I managed to get them looking okay in that one but messed them up in this one

I think her fins are correct in "Freedom" - here, they just appear too long to me. I think there's also a hitch forward before the fin (so far as I can tell from photos), but I can't describe how exactly they're shaped or how they'd look in this instance because there's a variety of positions for the fins... I do think "Freedom" is accurate though.
And I hope you get to the Believe show at some point.

Okay, thanks for the help!
By the time I'll be able to afford it, it probably won't be going anymore
