Description
This was a personal challenge for me. I tried all sorts of new techniques - texturing, a more detailed background (which failed, obviously), and a new mane and tail method. I can say I'm happy with Ambilona. Not sure about the background though...Well, it's my Birthday in two days, and I thought I'd make myself a present cos no-one else will

It was a mixture of two standard Photoshop brushes and just individually painting strands of hair
I'm not sure about it though. Doesn't seem 'me' and I do like my previous style...but I want it more detailed. Plus this took ages, so I dunno if I'll do it again.

Very lovely piece, I really like the use of colour in the horse and the background, also the mane and tail look very realistic so whatever new method you're tring must work!
