I truly am absolutely unable to come up with a creative title....

This newest picture by me is a fanart of Tempest Shadow (or Fizzlepop Berrytwist), who is, as some of my close friends already know, my favourite from the new characters from My Little Pony: The Movie.

I have been longing to draw her for a long time now, more-or-less since the very first time I saw her, which was last year, months before the movie came out...

First I drew Tempest on a sheet of thick paper using black ink pens, Promarkers, coloured pencils and my white gel pen, then I painted the background on a new sheet of thick paper with watercolour, and after that I cut Tempest out of the first sheet and scanned both parts into the computer like this.

I deeply enjoyed drawing Tempest, especially colouring her with my markers. I knew from the very beginning that using them would be the best idea and the only good way to colour her, since her canon colour scheme is very specific and I do not own such colours in any of my art supplies, but these two exact colours among my Promarkers - maroon for her body and magenta for her mane specifically - were the perfect choice. I focused very much on details (which is also a general trait of mine) and tried very hard to make evrything look the best as possible... Actually, I am pretty satisfied and delighted with how Tempest herself came out, except for the details of her magic aura which I made only according to my own imagination but messed it all up... The biggest mistake, though, which I am fully aware of, is that I put her scar on the wrong eye, since it is supposed to be on her right eye and here I drew it on her left one instead.. I know, I failed this badly and I apologize for that...

The worse part, even though it was generally easier to make, is the background, which I ruined very badly... I intended to make a galaxy-like watercolour background in shades of green, teal and blue, but in order to make it a little bit more like outer space, I added the black parts. However, I feel like exactly this is what ruined the picture the most, it looks just too weird and does not really fit there, in my opinion.... And after that I lost the will to add anything else anymore, because at first I also wanted to add drops of white watercolour which would look like stars and emphasize the galaxy effect, but I was afraid it would only ruin it further, therefore I eventually decided to just leave it like this.

And since I wanted this to be like my representation of my feelings for Tempest, the picture in general with its atmosphere and symbolism is mainly supposed to be melancholy, deep and wistful, but also hopeful at the same time..

And, well, uh, I hope you will like it.
