Only during the latest hours of the night, for direct routes or emergencies does one really need a taxi. So one comes to wonder - how did a taxi driver stand out so much in this rather populated city?

There was two keys that rised him to fame: being in the news and tourists. After the name "Minamoto Tooru" flashed through international news, he was given the internet spotlight, a slimmer moment of shine. Two men, identified as Tooru Minamoto and Takashi Tanaka have successfully escaped through the window of the 14th floor of an apartment, being threatened with a ticking bomb.

Minamoto (18) and Tanaka (57) have both been safely recovered with no injuries after being held captive in the 14th floor of an apartment in Tokyo. Reports state that until they both escaped and alerted the authorities, no one had noticed the bomb threat occurring next doors. Witnesses sighted duo dangerously climbing through the balconies of the apartment to escape. They were successful in entering the home of a nearby neighbor and alerted an immediate evacuation.

The culprit has been identified as a 31-year-old woman who has been arrested near the scene of the crime.

"It was a rather frightening experience," Minamoto had responded to reporters "I am very thankful that the chance had appeared for us to escape, and that I get to live another day."

Tanaka had refused to appear to any of our reporters, but Minamoto states that he was of "huge help and support" while in the stressing situation.

Out of all people that you would expect to suddenly get a boost of personality, you wouldn't expect it to be a taxi driver! After an incident that involved an apartment, two tied up hostages and a ticking bomb (yikes!), one of the captives has been spotted a lot by tourists in Tokyo. People are tweeting selfies with him and commenting how nice of a guy he is. His charm spread through Japanese Twitter users and they've soon gone in a hunt to get a chance to meet the guy. Now talk about crazy!

He seems to be mainly popular with tourists

Despite the public request, it seems he hasn't created a twitter account but has commented he is grateful of the support.

He is now spreading quickly through the internet and receiving lots of positive reviews because of his hospitality. Tourists also commented he knows a huge ton about Japan and has been able to answer any questions!
