Description
To decide whether it's "Good" or "Not good," we have a very simple rule: the composition must be true. We must describe what is, what we see, what we hear, what we do.
For example, is is forbidden to write, "Grandmother is like a witch"; but we are allowed to write, "People call Grandmother the Witch."
It is forbidden to write, "The Little Town is beautiful," because the Little Town may be beautiful to us and ugly to someone else.
Similarly, if we write, "The orderly is nice," this isn't a truth, because the orderly may be capable of malicious acts that we know nothing about. So we would simply write, "The orderly has given us some blankets."
We would write, "We eat a lot of walnuts," and not "We love walnuts," because the word "love" is not a reliable word, it lacks precision and objectivity. "To love walnuts" and "to love Mother" don't mean the same thing. The first expression designates a pleasant taste in the mouth, the second a feeling.
Words that define feelings are very vague. It is better to avoid using them and stick to the description of objects, human beings, and oneself, that is to say, to the faithful description of facts.

Finally done! Download for the full Wow That's HUEG Version. ;D
Characters from Mother 3 cast as Character's From Agota Kristof's books: The Notebook, The Proof, and the Third Lie:
-Lucas and Claus as...yeah.
-Hinawa as Mother
-Flint as Father (draped over him is the Orderly's blanket, and in the foreground in front of him are the two boards)
-Leder as The Insomniac
-Duster as Mathias ( thus I drew him young, though I couldn't manage a seven-year-old Duster as is Mathias's proper age at...a certain point
-Tessie as Yasmine, her dress tie dissolving in to two of Mother's homeknit scarves (I'M SO SORRY)
-Abbey as Sarah (I'M SO SORRY x2)
-Kumatora as Harelip, holding Boney (I'M SO SORRY xOVER 9,000 PLEASE FORGIVE ME)
So yeah, this is likely to be the last non-SaB and non-=M1 Children's Book work I do for a while. I just really, really wanted to draw this X,D
Grandmother isn't in the picture because I associated her with Locria, and drawing old people - especially decidedly masculine old people that are dressed as women and may possibly have ridiculous hair and shark-toothed smiles, etc. - are not quite my forté.
But such is life. Or something like that. ^^

Nooooooo you stopped before the goooooood part!
The end of The Proof (the last two chapters) are my favorite parts of the whole trilogy.

Looking at your character selection I do like each part you gave each person. If I did this,I probably would have done it the same way (except I would have made Kumatora Yasmine and Tessie Clara only because of thier age).

Hm, I can see that...
But when I was reading it (before the Certain Chapter Involving a Certain Dog), I imagined Kuma as Harelip, so I just went with it. ;D

When I was reading that certain chapter I imagined a random girl in a red dress with black teeth and a puss covered face...nasty.
From what I've read (so far) I've noticed a lot of similarities between the books and M3. I've also found myself keeping a chart of how many women Lucas has slept with (which, if you think about it, is kinda ironic since Lucas from M3 doesn't have a love interest :< ).

I JUST ordered these books from the library, and waiting for my personal copy of the Three Novels edition to arrive after I start reading (because I'm too eager to get my hands on them).
I don't understand the picture quite yet, but I can't wait to make the connections soon. They must be...I don't know if I should say "good" now after reading that excerpt in your post. xD; Enjoyable?

Enjoyable? Yes. Good? Well, I think so. :3
But, as I've told everybody else, be ready for quite a bit of disturbing crap. XD Though if you like being led on a leash of confusion, you'll love the trilogy. I own the three Novels edition as well, and I can't imagine how it must have been to wait between the first and the second book or, even more so, the second and the third book.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy the novels! I did. : )
( And Kuma holding Boney will take on a very sinister/O______O meaning very quickly. ;D )

Yeah, school has gotten me down recently too. >:/ I've been trying to draw something from M2 or M3 for some time now, but I've got a slew of other things to keep me busy.
Both. XDDDD I find disturbing/morbid stuff really fascinating, but I can't really explain why. Maybe it's just the raw imagery...or the idea that there's always been a primal part of our personalities that allows us to commit atrocities against each other, despite living in a civilized world.

aaa wonderful! I finished reading the series last month. I began reading with the mother3 characters attached to the characters of the novel in my mind, but it was so wonderfully written that I totally forgot about that connection while reading the rest, I was so immersed in it!
however, in the third book, I couldn't help but think of Flint as Mother, searching for Cl--Lucas.
also KUMATORA HARELIP WHAT HAVE YOU DONE

shiroandfubuki In reply to eemee [2010-04-12 04:13:14 +0000 UTC]
I know! I was the same way until about mid-way through The Proof. I still imagined Lucas looking like Lucas and Claus looking like Claus, but their personalities became totally untainted by those in M3.
I thought that having each twin wear the opposite-colored short would be too obvious. Or would it? ;D
and MUAHAHAHAHA >: D
