The highest res I have is the 1920x1080px which is also available through the download button at the side of the screen.
If you happened to be saving the image from the deviation page, you're probably getting an image of 1024x576px

Well for Yu-Gi-Oh their designs look like that of Egyptian god cards... As for them starting to look more and more like Digimon...

One of my favorites is how Luxray is basicly Raidramon right down to being a lightning type in second form and everything.
And yes, I've been trying my best to avoid the whole Mega Evolution vs Digivolution, but come on... Mega Charizard X vs Black War Greymon?
Maybe I've just been trying to see too much into it, but it looks like since Digimon slowly died out Pokemon saw them as ripe for the picking, just replace the angry faces with happy faces if they're non-legendary.
