Description

One day late but I have a special Valentine's Day silbal with luminous status (all luminous genes unlocked) up for auction!

I really missed drawing off-base designs. Between irl stuff, commissions, and Drakonian Daycare/Shelter sales I really didn't have much time to spare, but since I'll be working on some Drakonian customs now I thought it would be good to do some warmups first.

What are silbals?
Highly intelligent and skilled in all types of magic, silbals are known for their strong connection to the spiritual realm. Living for centuries in the deep forests of Sakhengell, they've learned how to channel magic stored in the wood of sacred aldrak trees through self-crafted masks resembling spirits wandering between the worlds. When wearing their masks, silbals undergo a temporary transformation allowing them to see the essence of life, the shadows of the dead, and the flow of magic. In the past, different silbal tribes were fully committed to following the path of their patron spirits, but nowadays, silbals living in palace communities are free to choose their own spiritual path.

Silbals are inventors of glowkites and creators of the essence-splitting technique which led to the creation of morphets.

Kitsune
Spirit foxes, a symbol of freedom and playfulness, are one of the most common dwellers of the "realm beyond", therefore being a mask inspiration for a lot of modern silbals. They are commonly found in shrine areas, lured there by the high concentration of elemental magic, so young silbals wanting to follow the path of kitsune are often seen helping shrine caretakers in exchange for their knowledge of the spiritual realm and the ability to connect with local spirits. Kitsune silbals are usually cheerful and open-minded, but just like their spirit fox counterparts, they can show their trickster side to those they aren't very fond of.
