I will try hard not to randomly destroy the original. It may be time to get a portfolio for these guys O o;

I cannot even begin to imagine doing anything on that scale with colored pencils. Holy shit. That's commitment. Every once in a while I think, Oh, I'll color this smallish picture with colored pencils, and it will be pretty! Then I spend 5 times as much time as coloring anything of said size COULD POSSIBLY TAKE, and it manages to look like it was done quickly and messily by a ten-year-old.
I also wouldn't touch watercolors to save my life XD
And the light and glow and... everything are spectacular, as always

final color adjustments mostly! The originals are actually pretty pale, and the scanner grays them out. So photoshop brings those back up. I also use it to add depth, so the picture gets some extra shadows and highlights before it's finally done ^ ^.

I have that problem too sometimes, but mostly my scanner gets everything right except some blues and purples. I really like the texture you got with the color pencils.

But other than that, this is pretty freakin' epic.

Ack, how'd you get such smooth colors! I ended up getting some hot press to try out for a Figure Drawing project and it like..eats the water! It's impossible to get more than a few strokes on it without totally liquidizing the paint first. I even tried wetting the whole paper first but all that did was make it wrinkly. I'm not thinking too highly of hot press at the moment. =/
