This might seem like an odd comment to make, but the composition of this really evokes to me Disney's sleeping beauty. Granted your version is more simplistic than Sleeping Beauty, but the colors really remind me of that.

There is nice mood here, a kind of watercolor feeling. I like his pose, hair and look in face
